Image Nampa, IDCool Mountain Transport, one of the Intermountain West’s premier transportation companies of food products, was just named the newest member of EPA’s SmartWay program. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Nampa, Idaho, the company is a leading asset-based over-the-road trucking company that provides refrigerated and dry van transportation services to leading food services companies and agricultural producers throughout the United States.

“Registered SmartWay Carrier Partners measure, benchmark, and track their efforts to increase efficiency and fuel economy and have the documentation to prove it, giving them an advantage with prospective and current clients,” according the EPA’s SmartWay website. Cool Mountain Transport’s President Brian Hoblit stated, “We are always looking to provide the best service to our clients while being mindful of our impact on the environment. Tracking our impact and making incremental changes will ultimately help our clients, our vendors, our stakeholders, and will make us the best company we can be!”

Mr. Hoblit also noted how this will help the investors in Cool Mountain Transport in fulfilling their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiative. “Getting the SmartWay certification is indicative of how our investors hope their current and potential investments perform: while our investors are striving to make returns, they also want to make sure that their companies are minimizing impacts to the environment. Joining the SmartWay program shows our commitment to helping our investors know that they have partnered with a company that cares about more than just dollar returns.”
